Got another Bandit & RXS

Picked this up off a friend who was in need of some £, 98 reg 31k miles and cleaner than some of my dinner plates I dare think dude must have shares in autosol or a really understanding missus.

Took it for a ride out in the Yorkshire Dales to Reeth.

A polished turd to many (myself included somewhat) but didn't break a grand on it and it rides as well as a friends K5 650 I rode up from Birmingham last month.

Also took a foray into 2Ts, had it since July but been busy sorting gremlins (the sort involving stripped wheel hubs, rusty exhausts, potatoes and caustic soda.......), 87 plate with 18k mile

Rides as well as a 650 as they're pretty much unchanged since the dawn of time.

why have you had to push an rxs home? only time i thought i had to was when i didn't switch the tap over to reserve fast enough, and so it took forever to start back up ¬_¬

@Rob First time the chain tensioner threads stripped so the chain was constantly going slack and slipping off the sprocket and the second time I think a combination of duff spark plug, stale fuel & clogged up exhaust meant it would idle but hardly pull so again ended up pushing it back, fresh plug, fuel & decoke has sorted it.

My own fault both times for been lazy/cheap but meh, luckily mates were on hand to help both times, its been fine since & found a micron going cheap that I might stick on for a bit more tinkering over the winter along with a 12v conversion (the 6v stock electrics are appalling)

mine was amazingly reliable, bought it as a shed for 180, needed all cables changing and the engine was abit fucked, got a replacement engine off chives on here which had been left outside for 2 years, fitted that and got it to run, but it was down on compression, didn't stop it topping out at 55 though, new rings for £8 and it was as good as new.

thinking back the only time i was left stranded was when the tyre valve tore at a bike show i went to, be a very good bike if it was 12v and had the ybr front and rear end me thinks.
