I've tried to talk my other half out of studying in London but alas due to scholarship restrictions and lack of relevant courses in the north of England or Scotland it's looking like London.

I would at the very least visit on weekends if I can't find work in the area but due to restrictions of UCL dorms she is looking at private housing. She's also not keen on sharing with randomers, but not a huge problem as the scholarship offers a decent chunk of change for living expenses and I would be chipping in even if I only do stay weekends.

Any advice?

Those containers have been very popular as artists studios in Trinity Buoy Wharf, although weren't allowed to be lived in. I'd love to live there.

Mind you, Waltham Forest is a bit of a schlep from UCL.
Still, I suppose it might be doable if the Central Line takes you all the way in... Thinking

Got no suggestions meself, sorry.
