green warning light on a tzr? what is it for?

i know that currently on my tzr125:

red - oil
orange - indicators
blue - lights
green??

I'd have said neutral looking at mine. Although, the red light always comes on with my neutral light, does yours too?

when ignition is on (bike not running, in neutral) red+green lights should be on, when the bike is running, and in neutral, red should be off, and green on. when a gear is selected, green should go out.

Hmmm, whenever I'm in neutral the red light always comes on. As soon as I'm in gear, it goes out. I assumed this was how it was supposed to work, but now I'm confused...

hmm, i dont think it should come on whilst the engine is running and in neutral. it should only be when the engine is off, but the bike is in neutral, hmm we need the help of Keith

Hi

With a 4 stroke the red light is the oil pressure light so should be on with the ignition on but the engine not running.

On a 2 stroke the red light is normally for the 2 stroke oil level. Quite often these are wired up so that they are on when the bike is in neutral (engine running or not), basically as an easy check for a bulb.

On the tzr models including the tzr125r and tzrr the red and green light will come on in the neutral gear as as safety measure. The green light comes on to tell you that you are in neutral and the red light comes on as a check so that you know its working. If you started to run low on 2 stroke mid point on a long journey and you didnt know the bulb of the red light had blown when you started the bike you wouldnt have a clue you were running out of two stroke.

hence the red and green light at start up.

i rekon that all of you are correct

on my bike the red and green light comes on when the bike is in nuetral, running or not

in the haynes manual it says that red is for oil, which may come on while driving if it is low

it also says that the red and green lights come on while the bike is in neutral

but i havent found what the green light does yet i was wondering if anybody had a similar bike and new enough about it

green = charging light?
