Last night, about 2:30am, I got up and adjusted the Oxford Aquatex on my new Fazer to ensure it was fully covered in case of rain Cool

Not much at all but since my dad gave me it I feel I should at least take half-decent care of it even if it's an old, slow, heavy, ugly thing - much like the PO Smile Razz It has a nice cover and I wipe the mud off the license plate some times.

I love them all and they all get pampered, the spoilt bastards. Usually I ride 'em with a fair degree of ye olde mechanical sympathy to the fore, but they do get a bit of exercise now again too. Short intervals on oil, rarely more than two thousand. Chains cleaned and oiled after every ride (only takes a couple of minutes cos they're always so clean), and everything else kept pretty damn tidy as well. Yeah they're always clean, but I never use water or soap. Just GT85 or diesel / paraffin etc. They get a careful titivating (matron) on a very regular basis.

More than a lot of things. Maybe I don't wash it as much as I should, but I ride it as I should. I gets every single part of the rev range used, the speedo has been as far as it's going to go, and I've pushed it as far as I'm willing to go, and I enjoy every minute of it. I stopped at the petrol station about a mile into my ride the other week and I was smiling a genuine smile that nothing else brings out, just thinking of the fun I was going to have.

Also, whenever everything else is going wrong with life, I've always had bikes to cheer me up, one way or another.

Waaaaayyy too much. It's not even remotely sane.

My 125, I clean it nearly every week. I change the oil twice as often as the manual says. Always let it warm up before heading out. Sometimes when I walk past it in the garage, I give the seat a couple of gentle pats/slaps like I would horse I guess.

If I've kept the throttle pinned and bike screaming at 8,500rpm for a period of time to get up a hill, I apologise to the bike when we reach the top.

When we're out late, it's pitch black, pissing rain or icy /wet leaf roads, I ask the bike to get us both home in one piece and to not come over all Chinese at the side of the road.

After 18mths of owning the £1,500 bike, I didn't notice how bald the front tyre was, entered a tight RH bend trailing the front brake a little. Hit some mud and low sided in an instant. Sliding on the ground still on the bike. When I picked the bike up, I wasn't in shock, or scared or anything like that. I was livid, absolutely fuming because I had "hurt" my bike. I had scrapped a peg, little scuff on the indicator and scrape on the brake lever. Hardly anything. But I was at the side of the road, jumping up and down screaming obscenities and beating the crap out of the air in front of me.

If I didn't have my bike, I'd be an alcoholic.

I understand that the above is clear proof I'm mentally deficiant, sad and insane. But I don't care, I love my bike(s) Very Happy

... not a lot! Marco is in the garage - unwashed after the last ride in early september! Despite sticking new fairings on it, it's still a 13 year old FireBlade and you can't hide that fact! Least it ain't going to be on the road this winter!

As for my bike - couldn't give a fuck. It's a Chinese shit box I paid £100 for. I would however be pissed if it ever got nicked though but that's mostly on the principle that it's mine. Same goes for my pedal bikes. And Mrs.

Nothing quite like meeting Miss Palm and her 5 daughters while bent over the bike.

My bike gets what it needs, not what it wants. Same for kids and pets.
I, on the other hand, gorge my fat face on whatever I please.

IMHO you'd be doing it more of a favour if you just rode it straight away - just ride it sedately until it's up to temperature.

A girlfriend once said to me "Choose between me or the bike!"

She got the bus home and I never saw her again.

OP remember to name your bike and constantly refer to it as "she" and "her". Sick

My bikes are replaceable lumps of metal which give me enjoyment and excitement. That way when I crash them I'm not too bothered beyond the loss of their monetary value.
