Hi

I am looking at transporting 3 16kg wooden surfaces (1mx1m) Shocked by bike. Please can you guys help me think of as many different methods as possible (be as creative and Ingenuitive if possible Wink ).

I am willing to try any reasonable idea, using trailer, attaching a frame etc.

I always carry loads on my bikes, 1 metre square is pretty chunky, can you do it in a couple of trips rather than one go?

What bike?

Are there any holes or other potential anchor points on these "surfaces" or are we talking table tops?

One corner on the pillion foot peg if you have one.

Flat against the side of the bike.

Ideally make a bracket it up from that to the back of the bike.

Or a lot of ratchet straps etc.

How far are we talking?

I've taken 1m wide/50cm tall cardboard boxes on the bike in the least aerodynamic position (backed up against top box).

In 30mph zones I could hardly notice they were there.

I imagine that securing the load will be the biggest issue. At least cardboard gives a bit so the ropes protect it from sliding around. I can't really see how you would secure a solid square without clamping something on to it, a small vice or similar to then attach ropes to?

just slap them on the seat tie them down, and sit on the wood while your riding, shouldnt stick out too much either side of the bike

Yep, should add that the panniers on my KTM stretched to over 1m wide and have carried a circa 1m wide pop up tent on that fine.

Hi

Think the largest thing I have carried on a bike is a Scalextric box. Charlotte was pillion carrying it while I rode the bike. Up to about 5 it was OK, but over the it started to push her backwards.
