Since I'm going to be living in London, instead of the Stepford-esque valleys of rural Devon, I've been planning how to enhance the security of my bi-wheeled vehicular investment (known to industry experts as a BVI, to the layman, a motor-bicycle).

My first and favourite idea is this:
https://www.amazon.com/Wild-Planet-Gear®-Tracker-System/dp/B000062XP1/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

https://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41Y0FMH61TL.jpg

I rooted around in my old bedroom and found this in a drawer. Each of the three "sensors" will be placed at locations on the BVI, after the anti visual detection device (raincover) has been mounted. The seat, the wheels, the clocks, the ignition cover are all potential locations.
When movement is detected, the console receives the signal from the detecting sensor/s and sounds an alarm. The investor then has the opportunity to respond to the situation.

My second idea:

https://shop.electricfencing.co.uk/img/uploads/mid/1255946740_deernet.jpg

Self explanatory.

Anyone else have any ideas? From the infaesible to the downright lethal, illegal and human-rights-violating, I want them all - nobody is making any inroads into my BVI.

Stay the f*ck away from my bike, pikeys.

Do you think that the type of thief who attempts to calmly wheel new bikes out of a dealership in full daylight is going to be even slightly fazed by the sight of you hanging out of the bedroom window at 2am waving your tri-corder?

What part of London are you moving too?

Currently have mine chained to a big tree with an alarm wired up to the battery and a disk lock alarm on front wheel.

It goes off every now and then in early hours of the morning, along with the security light above my door, as people check to see if I have forgotten to put the alarm on.

Its enough to put off the opportunists, but honestly, nothings going stop a determined thief.

Stick a "Zing Ping Joybike" badge on it, painted it to look like it's been burned out, hang a few melted wires off of it. Nobody wants sloppy seconds.

Was it you that slept on a roll-mat in the garage next to your bike with a cricket bat?

Or was that someone else...
