ok kids im after a jacket, and frankly am sick of xxxl jackets to accommodate my monkey arms

its like manufactures think that if you are tall you must be a barrel shape as well, im no light weight, but my xxl frank thomas jacket left enough belly room to carry a large sleeping bag in there as well,

they seem to have tall or long clothing ranges in the states but would rather order something out of the uk,

also want it to be textile and a full size (3/4) jacket not one of these finish at the belly button jackets

second hand is fine
colour .. black or dark atleast

mucho thanks Wink

tl;dr
tall rider jacket wanted

I'm also interested in this. I remember going into a shop and finding it very difficult to find jackets which were the right arms length, I also don't understand the mentality of "If you have long arms you must be fat".

My current jacket is an XL Spada and my actual clothing size is M, so There's quite a bit of space left, I hate how the bottom half the jacket just sorta hangs there, even with the tightener as tight as possible.

doesnt seem to be much available cheaply in the uk
apparently some joe rocket jackets come in tall,
but there doesnt seem to be any option for it on uk sites

motorcycle gear out of the us has a good range of tall stuff, postage is a bit steep but the low prices seem to make up for it

And I thought it was just me Smile

Got a Armr Moto battle ready jacket (sounds like a beast)

Problem is like yourself I have long arms and body, but not the belly to go with it (ok, not a lightweight, but still not a chubber yet)

Have had to go for the xxxxxxxxl option to give enough arm length to tuck into the gloves and enough body length to zip onto the trousers.

Yes you did read that 8XL.

The trousers are just as bad, having to go for the xxxxxxl to get the length and I would still prefer them to be a bit longer.

Before you get speculating on an orangutang with giraffe legs, I would not say I am out of preportion too much, 6'8" tall, 38" inside leg and whilst that is quite tall and long for the tratitional biker, is not in the realms of freakishly huge (or at least I don't think so)

If you find anywhere which does accomodate the taller rider, PM me and I'll be there like a shot.

Mike

I have the opposite problem. Because of my expanding girth I am now having to don large jackets. Trouble is they make the arms gorilla size to match. Its my gut thats gotten bigger not my arms! As a result I find most jackets too long in the arms.

Wow! 6' 8". I thought at 6'4"I struggle finding things that fit, I have a 36" inside leg and struggle with everything, always have. In order to get jackets that fit my length I need to put up with a saggy fitting body, at 12 and a half stone I look like a stick insect. I currently have a size XL Buffallo jacket my CBT instructor gave me three years ago, due to another student crashing in it and tearing it, apparently they aren't allowed to use them like that?

But I am in the lookout for a new jacket as this one fit really well at 16, when I was mere 6 foot, but now the wrists are getting cold, and the gloves don't come up far enough, and there isn't enough adjustment to pull in all the slack around the middle.

I was thinking about maybe having to modify a jacket, like get my mum to make the adjustment better or something when I get my next jacket.

At 6ft 7in I found the JTS range of Textiles to fit well in XXXL. I'm usually a 48"-50" chest though.

I've had a couple of Bering jackets ( Austral ) which have been nice and long in the body - in fact, so long, they were on sale as only some freaky lanky git like me would fit them! So could be worth a look.

I'm 6'2" and around 13 stone, with orangutan-like arms. Both my leathers and textiles are RST, so may be worth investigating them. I don't rate the waterproofing on the RST Slice textiles though...

Rev'it is a Dutch brand, and they are generally taller and lankier as a race than we are in the UK so locating a nearby stockist of them is likely to be worth a punt too.

I have a Targa Turbo jacket which was snug enough for me at 6'2" 190lbs. If you're taller you might want to investigate the XL as I had an L.

I'm going to the bike show on the 28th of November when it's in Birmingham with the college. It's a while away but I'm going to go and have a try to find a jacket. I will post up some results, if wanted?

I just tried on my dad's bike jacket, I can't believe he has had it in the cupboard for three years and not worn it, now he's developed a beer belly and won't fit him. I may steal it as it fits reasonably well, but the bottom of the jacket sits quite low, just the style though. It's a Bering something or other XXXL, he's 6foot two with gibbon arms. I could probably do with the XXL, as mine is an XL.

It seemed really good for us orang-utans.
