Bike 'fell over' - what to check?

Got home after a drive yesterday to discover my Diversion lying on it's side on the pavement. No wind so I'm assuming some cunt drove into it or pushed it over. Evil or Very Mad

None of the neighbours saw anything unfortunately. Most upset.

Clutch lever snapped, indicator destroyed and a bit of a scuff on the fairing and engine bars. All easy and cheap enough to sort.

However, there was oil and petrol underneath the bike. Where might this have come from? Couldn't see any cracks or anything. Petrol from float bowls? Did the oil just come out as the bike is not really designed to be stored on its side? Oil level is still between max and min marks.

Any thing in particular I need to check? One of my friends said to look in the airbox for contamination... Yes?

Might be worth checking the air box but any fuel would have evaporated by now. Fuel leakage would have come from the overflow pipes and is no worry.

If it was me i'd just start it, since you've checked the oil already but if you have the time pull the air box apart and give it a wipe round.

Petrol may of returned through a breather pipe, same with the oil leakage.

Yes, I'd check the airbox although there shouldn't be any extra contamination in there after being on it's side. It has a breather aswell, for getting rid of condensation etc.

Double check that the gearchange linkages work.
Maybe a good time to put the battery on charge and check it hasn't leaked..if lead acid type). Expect the engine to take a bit longer before firing up.

Indicator sorted and clutch lever made safe until replacement arrives tomorrow. No fluids on the floor of the garage this morning so assuming nothing is leaking. Thumbs Up

Not had a chance to look at the airbox but may not bother unless people think it's worth it? The Haynes seems to suggest I need to remove the fuel tank to do so, and it's currently full to the brim so may wait until I've had a few miles out of it in case it decides to empty itself due to my inexperience/ineptitude.

Funnily enough it actually starts more easily now!

Thank you all for your input. It certainly set my mind at ease when I thought my pride and joy had been damaged.
