Can't believe what's just happened today. A friend had been mentioning for a while a Jota in an old guys garage that was probably up for sale. Got a phone call this morning to say I could go and have look if I wanted.
Long story short, the guy opened the garage door and there, larger than life, stood a silver Laverda Jota. All complete and gleaming, the guy bought it from Sports Motorcycles (the ones who built Mike Hailwoods TT winning Ducati) brand new in 1979. 8300 miles on the odo, mine for.......£6500!!!! Still can't believe it, the one motorcycle icon I have never ridden, let alone owned. Photos to follow once I can arrange a fully padded transporter with some angels as outriders.

Yes, yes, I know. Overweight, crippling clutch, won't run properly around town, a 900 Divvy has more power (!), 1970's brakes... but...but....... ITS MINE!!!!!! (makes noise like Gollum, my preciouses!)

Time to dig out the late 1980s copies of Performance Bikes.

All the best

I had three Lavs over a thirty year period, two triples and a SOHC 750, there's nothing like them. Get yourself on the Internet site, a mine of good information and help, you cant come across a problem that someone hasn't had before and found an answer for. When it comes to spares, Slater Laverda at Collington I found to be the least expensive in the UK but for anything costing big bucks I always 'phoned Columbia Car and Cycle in Canada 001 250 265 4502 in the evenings, the mans name is Wolfgang Haerter and gives great service. Best of luck you'll love it !.

Many congrats.
The Jota has always been my dream bike since the '70s when I was a lad thrashing sports mopeds around.
6.5 k what a bargain and yes, I am truly jealous.
Enjoy!!
