AN update, you may remember my post about the incompetent training school a few weeks ago. Since then, I have been practising the manoeuvres on a car park at least once a week.
I booked myself in for a 'practise' module 1 on my 125 last Wednesday, which I failed on putting my feet down on the slalom ( for no good reason!) and on the avoidance, for doing 40kph and hitting one of the Yellow cones.
So last Friday, I booked a 2 hour session with a much better local school, and got to practise all the manoeuvres including the avoidance and had an instructor to myself for the whole time.
Today, I met my dad and his 650 at the test centre and PASSED the mod 1 on a big bike! 3 minors, for
i. going round the last yellow cone on the figure of 8
ii. tyre on the line on the u-turn
iii. 48kph on the avoidance (but managed 60kph on the controlled stop and got told to slow down!)
SO pretty pleased with that. Now to formulate a plan for Mod 2.
ANd I have decided to post that the first school I had a bad experience with was called 'Joyriders' of Gloucester and Chepstow. It's not fair to the decent schools in the area not to say who they were. As it happens, both the better school and the test examiner today both guessed that's who had been messing me about without me giving them any clues.
And in Gloucester, I can highly recommend Westside Riders for mod 1 lessons.

Brilliant, that's the way to do it. Thumbs Up

Reckon you're going to use a school bike for Mod 2, get insured on your dad's, or get "insured" on your dad's... Wink

It's a 1993 Honda NTV 650 - I believe it's also produced as a Honda Deauville when wearing a lot more plastic.
And I think unfortunately unless we can get a Saturday test I will have to use a school bike for mod 2 as dad can't have any more time off work for this sort of thing until next year.
It did feel good turning up there without an instructor / school bike and still passing, though!
