Hi All, I need a bit of advice here as I'm not sure what to do.

My bandit has been laid up since March in my in-laws back garden. I went over at the weekend to have a look at it with the intention of getting it back on the road over the winter.

Upon first inspection I have noticed this.

This sits just behind the downpipes at the front of the bike attached to the two sides of the frame and is quite clearly fucked Sad

Is there anything that can be done about this? or will the entire frame need replacing (if that's the case I will probably just get rid of it) I will have a look at the rest of the frame this week to see if any other horrors are to be found but really need to know what I can do if anything.

Thanks in advance.

Si

Have it cut out and a new bit of tube welded in.

There is a similar set up on the Hornet, it was cut out and a new one welded in one of the BCF show and tell threads:

isn't that a bolt in bolt out section? I thought the bandits had a removable cradle?

Cool, thanks. I will have a word with my welder mate and see what he can do.

One end has two bolts which look to be holding it onto the frame (you can see them in the second picture) but as far as I can see the other end is welded. makes me wonder if its had the same issue in the past Thinking . I'll take another look at it.

Yes, That's the part. Nice one. Very Happy I'll have a look for one of those a bit closer to home. Thumbs Up
