Anyone ride horses?

Used to be totally against horse riders, thinking they were just 'another' problem on our roads.
But after getting into thanks to the new girlfriend, I am totally hooked. Yesterday we went for a gallop across the fields, jumping hedges and having a right laugh. Granted I was totally out of control for most of it (read horse was following it's owner). We went through places that are totally out of bounds for bikes. The full run took nearly 8hrs, after which I was walking like John Wayne but with major stirrup bite. But s massive grin.

One thing I can't get the hang of is the trot. A few times getting the rise and fall is easy. but then the saddle comes and smacks me right in the back. Walk, Canter, Gallop is easy. Just hold on and take it.
