Replacement Carb for Honda SCV 100 Lead

Not sure if this is the right place to post but I'll give it a go.

I am continuely having bogging down issues with my bike, and the only way I seem to fix it is by stripping down the carb and cleaning it, so I'm thinking I need to replace it. I have looked on ebay and there are plenty of carbs for the Honda Lead available from stripped down bikes, but what I was wondering was whether I could fit a different carb to it.

Looks the same, ask seller for dimensions.

But I would forget fitting a new carb. You obviously have crap in the fuel tank, so why not fit an inline fuel filter then you shouldn't have to keep cleaning it?

I've got an inline filter fitted already, but it's done it twice now since i fitted it. The last time it started to bog out, I cured it by just grabbing hold of the carb and giving it a quick shack, side to side, and then the fuel filter. That cured it straight away luckily, but this time it didn't work . Only cleaning out the carb cured it.

Remove the carb and replace the fuel line, clean the carb.

You probably have a sticking float valve

me thinks you have crap in your tank, carb...or both

can you see any bits in the filter?

if it were me, i would drain the tank, wash it out with water - let it dry

clean the carb

replace filter

replace pipes

ride

Other than checking for muck in the fuel also check the auto choke for proper operation, the choke may be on all the time, the choke is located under the small black plastic cover and have been known to give trouble.
