The quote below if from someone on a forum posting in regard to someone else posting about a wheel not being balanced and causing vibration after getting a tyre fitted.

I'm more shocked at this reaction than the fact the wheel wasn't balanced. How the hell would someone not keep a bike upright because the wheel isn't balanced?

They probably read about unbalanced wheels causing issues somewhere and has never ridden with an unbalanced wheel.

To have unbalanced wheels in motorcycle is not a safety issue really even at speed unless you strap a brick to your wheel. They get balanced only first time you put new tyres on your rims. As the tyres wear they get unbalanced anyway. I've never rebalanced my wheels with part worn tyres, never caused me any problem.

Pah, I rode my last honda for a year with unbalanced wheels, only noticed when I took it to get a tyre changed and the mechanic pointed it out!

I took my bike into the local suzuki dealer way back when it was new to get a new tyre put on and they didnt balance it. Was not impressed as there was a vibration over a certain speed, just shows incompetence as I paid them to do a job and they didnt do it properly and they should know better.

That said, it wasnt dangerous and I didnt even bother saying owt to them. Just showed me they were lazy cunts and found someone else to do my tyres from then on.

Sounds more like an article from the Daily mail than a bike forum!

My GSXR front wheel is buckled never mind un balanced. Never caused me a problem even at the whopping 70mph it can achieve on our roads

had a new front tyre on my 125, figured that its top speed, downhill with a following wind is an indicated* 62mph , it didn't need it.




......*as in really 52mph then!
