One of my friends had his module 2 test this morning, luck was given and he took off.

Got a phonecall not long ago and stating he failed, only one fault but a 'serious' fault. It was given because when asked to stop on the left he stopped over a driveway.

I remember this being a no when I took my test long ago, but I don't recall ever being said it was regarded as a serious fault. What are your guys opinions on this?

Also, do examiners have their own opinions on what it a minor and what is serious or dangerous, or are there written guidelines?

Rich.

IIRC, they word it as "Pull over where it is safe to do so".

If you're over a driveway and a dozy bint in a car, or a guy in a van with no rear view mirror, reverses out they're going to hit you.

Ergo, not a safe place.

Guess so, just thinking now anyone could pull into the driveway too. So should really be treated like a junction.

Gutted for him, though he can still bring out his 125 for the ride outs!

It's tarded and rude. You wouldn't do it in real life (unless London, where everyone is tarded and rude), don't do it on a test.

Oh aye, I agree. I'd never park my bike over someone's drive. In the heat of an exam however I can see where he may just pick somewhere in a panic that wasn't already cluttered with parked cars and waste bins out for collection. The test was apparently in London, so maybe he should have used that as reasoning for stopping there.
