Ok I found a bike I really want on ebay, I haven't actually seen it but it's at a really good price for it's mileage and reg. There's 7 hours left on the bid and it costs £1300. If the bid ends do you think I'll still have a chance to get the bike if nobody has bided on it.

Or will the seller just put it on bid again?

My advice would be don't buy without having seen

Worth contacting seller anyway - if it does sell on the bay doesn't mean the buyer will actually turn up. You can get yourself in line for it after viewing

Already contacted the seller he's in Birmingham, I could go see it but I'm at my dad's right now in London so that's not really possible. I'm back tomorrow but obviously that's not quick enough.

Well if you really want to take a punt then go for it, but make sure you get a LOT of very detailed photos to back up condition, and ask all of the questions you would have asked had you have seen it in person first. If everything comes across genuine then bid - but you do run the risk of turning up to pick the bike up and being disappointed, and since you can't do that until next weekend by the sounds of it, I'd say seller will be pretty disappointed too (and that's even if he hasn't asked for an immediate deposit...)

Yeah man. I think I'll have to leave it and pray that nobody bids for it which is very unlikely because you'll get those last minute bidders. :l

Ah well! I guess there'll be other good bikes up for sale and I've not even done my CBT yet so...

bid on it, pay cash on collection.

If it's not as described or it's shit, then just walk away. Just because you won on ebay, it doesn't mean you can be forced into paying.

£1300, bike best be an absolute mint bike with horrendously low miles.

1st bike I paid £600 for and it wasn't in bad shape at all.

Bare in mind it's a Honda though. It's got 8000 miles and it's the cheapest I've seen a CBR 125 at.

What year Shocked

I've never paid more than £1k for a CBR. My first one has 2000 miles and cost me 1/3 of that. Laughing

Also... wouldn't want a nice clean expensive CBR for a noobie in winter. I've seen the price of repairs.

It's an 09... so it's not really new at all.

Have you not seen the pics of the plastics where they've been repaired?

Hmmm...id be very very wary of any bike they sell. Seeing as the huge header on their site is "Damaged Bikes and Salvage always wanted for cash"...theres a good chance the bikes had a prang (or two)....not a problem as long as you have a good look at it first before you buy and it looks and rides ok AND the price you pay reflects these facts...ie....id offer £1000 and take it from there.

No pics of the left hand side of the bike could be cause for concern. Confused

There's a couple in there, but I'd be more worried about these:

Rather convenient that the next 20 or so pics after a CBR125 for sale are CBR125 parts.... including some spare dials Laughing

Nah, wouldn't bother.

Neglected chain, so factor in a new one. Dirty, they didn't even clean it... at £1399 they can fuck a cactus.

Does look the cheapest, but ask yourself why they want rid at that price.

Take a deep breath.

There will be bikes for sale when you're ready to ride one. You're just tormenting yourself by window shopping at the moment.

If one comes up round the corner from you and you can give it a thorough going over, sure, buy one now. But chasing half way across the country after dodgy back lot dealer bikes, give that a miss.

We all were, at some point or another. Just take your time, do your research and the right moment for you will come.
