Can a police officer determine the bhp of your bike by the twist of the throttle?

Can you define a blokes ability to father children by cupping his bollocks?

Same thing in my eyes.

Not a hope in hell. Although if you have told them it has a throttle stop to limit the power then they can possibly have a good idea you are telling porkies.

All the best

Of course he can and if you dispute his ability to do so , he WILL find a reason to arrest you .

Remember they know best because they are police officers and don't you dare question their authority or knowledge again.

You can define if a woman wants sex with you or not by just cupping her breast and the strength of the slap you get.

What if you fit a much larger throttle tube, as people often do on track machines? Wink That would make it feel like very little twist was available, when in reality the mechanical advantage would've fully opened the butterflys (in the case of CV carbs at least, obviously its the slide in a slide carb and something else for throttle bodies)

Hi

Certainly possible (and would work for slide carbs and throttle bodies as well). Playing with the throttle is not going to count as proof (and is irrelevant to other forms of restriction than a throttle stop), but might be regarded as reasonable grounds for demanding the bike is tested.

All the best

Keith

Do you legally need to have one now?

Your bike needs to be restricted and a certificate proves you have a restrictor kit, it does not prove it is fitted or ever has been!

Just like an MOT certificate proves you had the vehicle MOT'd and it passed on that day.

The only way of proving without doubt that my bike has a restrictor kit fitted (I have a certificate for it) is to pop the tank off, pull the air box off, pull the carbs off and you can see the kit.

If you believe that you don't have the mental capacity to wipe your own arse, never mind ride a motorcycle on the public highway.

i'm pretty sure said officer was joking...Or did he say I can tell a V4 from a inline 4?

You must have been pretty fucking high to go with what he said. It's as unbelievable as when a cop says they don't search people depending on their skin colour or clothes. Rolling Eyes

He can tell if the bike is restricted by twisting the throttle. (unless it has washer in the inlet.)
