Having passed my mod 2, A2 test I received my license back. On line 9 it says:

AM/A2/A/B1/B/f/k/p/q

As it says A, does that mean they've cocked up and given me an unrestricted license? Shocked

...or would that be A1?

Is there anything in the 'codes' column? The trike entitlement now comes under A, and has 79(tri) as a code.

As above really, A would be nice, but DVLA don't tend to hand shit like that out. They do lose it however Laughing

There will be a code after the A on the back of your card (79tri as suggested above). It's because you already have the B category and can thus ride a trike.

You can not legally ride a bike that isn't A2 compliant.

That, I agree that it'll be the grandfathered in trike entitlement[*]. It's a stupid, confusing and pointless way of encoding classifications, but... DVLA.

[*] And IIRC trike entitlement is now obtained by passing a bike test, for all the sense that makes.
