Good afternoon everyone.

I've just recently bought a CBR125 in blue (love it) and I notice a problem and I have a video to show if what I'm saying doesn't make sense.

It's meant to idle at 1.5rpm but the more I turn it to the right even when in neutral the revs increase to 5.5rpm when all the way to the right.

I'm going to a dealer tomorrow but was wondering if any of the BCF massive know what could be the problem?

Yeah, usual throttle cable being routed wrong.

It should have one smooth path, can get pinched by putting the tank on wrong, did it once, was a pain in the arse.

This, may also do it if you've adjusted all of the free play out of your throttle cable and then some.

I can't see a mechanic until tomorrow evening but I have to take to work 30 round trip so I would of done about 60 miles.

Do you reckon it'll be ok?

My CB600F had this problem when new.

Well kind of. Loads of slack on the throttle except when I turned the handle bars to the right it tightened right up.

Found the throttle cables were crossed over under the tank.

Hinged up the tank, clippednthe cables out, clippednem back in so it wasn't crossed over... Job done. No cost.

A good dealer should do this for nothing. It would take 5 minutes.

I wouldn't recommend riding it, I lasted all of half a mile. Embarassed

Just check as Ham says, the throttle adjustment on the grip end, see if its adjusted badly.

Don't dealer it Laughing

Where abouts are you?

The CBR, aside from the fact its teeeeeeny underneath the body work isn't that hard to fathom. Its 1 cable that goes from the twist grip to the carb/throttle body.

It is in the wrong place or caught. Simply route the right way or un-catch it Laughing

If it was closer, I would have popped by. But seriously it shouldn't be anything too hard, you won't really need to undo anything. With the bike off give it a quick wiggle and a small tug on the cable, see if you can locate where its stuck.
