I'm bored in the evenings and need something to watch, so I thought that I might as well educate myself somewhat in the process.

Can anyone recommend some good documentaries to watch? I'll start

- Anything by Louis Theroux
- Anything by Spacerip on youtube

OK now help me Laughing

You must watch this.

It's a little bit 'save the earth, maaaan', but the shots are all absolutely stunning and leave you in awe at how amazing the natural beauty of this planet really is.

Get on bit torrent. Download these three programs. Educate yourself (and detest the universal dumbing down we have suffered).

BBC Ascent of Man

BBC Civilisation

BBC World at War

From September 2014 to January/February 2015 I will not be using any English, nor reading any. As such, I won't be on here. PM at will, but I won't be checking/posting unless in emergencies. Certainly not for the first couple of months. Please berate me savagely if I break that rule...

World At War is awesome but it's also extremely depressing.

Last night I watched the following:

Nazis an occult conspiracy
4x episodes of Most evil men in history
Blackbird SR71: The design brief
Giant machines with Chris Barry: Submarines and Bombers

All from a torrent of discovery documentaries. All excellent, and less depressing than World At War.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Anything that I thought was worth a watch I've had posted here. Except air dogfights, that I find surprisingly entertaining. Thumbs Up

Stacey Dooley investigates can be quite interesting, and if not, she's nice to look at.

Werner Herzog is always good, Grizzly Man has been mentioned but most of his stuff is excellent.

I quite enjoyed "Touching the Void" too. It's not about a mishap involving breaching the toilet roll with your finger whilst wiping your arse, as it might sound, but about the climber who was left dangling on the end of a rope which his "mate" had to cut.

The King of Kong is mentioned in your links too; that is absolutely brilliant Thumbs Up

Fawlty Towers is probably the most accurate ever documentary about the hotel trade.

"Secrets of World War Two" is good. It's a bit like all the bits we've learned since the Word at War was made. Scary really, just how neck and neck the technology advances between Axis and the Allies really were, and how game changing the slightest cock-ups could have been.
