Captive Spacers.

Anyone tried them? Garage by me is doing free fitting to loose wheels for the foreseeable future so it's a no brained for me to take the wheels in to get tyres changed.

Only issue is the poxy spacers! In my 125 days, I remember the hatred I had for changing wheels on my own trying to balance the wheel on my foot whilst lifting it and trying (and usually failing) to get the axle through without losing a spacer or two!

Seem to be a miracle cure for this problem, are they really that good? Has anyone got some on a current model Hornet/CBR and can let me know where they got them from?

When doing it regularly, I get used to it so it's not too much of an issue.

However, when racing, say; where you're changing wheels several times a weekend in some cases and there may be a tight schedule (one of the funner races was when I made such a late call for dry tyres that I missed the main start - but easily picked off 2/3rds of the grid on wet tyres.)

For the likely cost vs time saved, I'd have to be earning a hell of a lot of money to want them on a road bike.

If you have that much trouble with your foot, maybe get a wedged block or similar you can roll it up?
