Any recommendations? What's the deal with the new rules, I heard solicitors can now only work up to an £800 limit, after that it comes out of any claim made. I don't think I have legal cover. .
After the last conveyer belt experience I had a few years ago I'd rather have someone working on my side, not against.
Cheers. |

If your injury claim is valued at under £25,000 then your case goes onto the portal fast track system with fixed fees of £800. You can still get funding under a CFA (No win no fee) but as you have pointed out it tends ti be a conveyor belt system.
The £25K is based on the combined figure of General damages (injury element) as well as the Special damages (non injury element)
If your injuries are over the £25K barrier then it is multi track and fees are uncapped which means that the case can be investigated properly and external experts can used to help establish liability if required.
But without knowing the extent of your injuries, at this time it is impossible to determine a value. ____________________ It is better to arrive 30 seconds late in this world, than 30 years early in the next |

I had no legal cover and was on the cheapest nastiest TPO cover.
Some twat pulled out and they assigned some solicitor company for me, my claim went over the 25k for injuries thing, it dragged for like 3 years
Yet I have a similar one minus brain damage some time after, 4 weeks, closed and settled.
Both with the same company If you want the name, PM, but honestly, its a fucking gamble. |

If you experienced a brain injury and you settled in under 4 years then you probably under settled on the basis that brain injuries (even minor brain injuries) usually do not settle for at least 4 years, and so a prognosis is difficult in a shorter period of time.
Any injury claim should not be settled in less than 12 months (even minor injuries) and the more serious the injury, the longer the settlement time because of any potential long term issues, hence the reason so many personal injury firms are being sued for professional negligence because they have under valued and gone for the quick settlement to get their cash in.
If the crash was non fault, you do not need legal cover or egal expenses insurance.
If the OP wants to PM me with details of his injuries, I will be happy to give an indication of possible values and whether it fits into a fast track or multi track case. ____________________ It is better to arrive 30 seconds late in this world, than 30 years early in the next |

I lost all sensory feeling, so mainly pain reception in the right hand side of my body, hands, arms, feet etc. So much so I didn't realise my wrist was broken in a following accident.
It took just under 3 years, he was uninsured and disqualified in a stolen car But it was settled for a sum of 6 figures Can't really moan, I feel less pain and can continue with my life. One step closer to becoming Iron Man. |
