Apparently Tesco are rolling out facial recognition advertising in their petrol station.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-24803378

Whilst I disagree with it, I do wonder what fun you could have if perhaps you made it easy to be found, and perhaps searched for lots of things with Asda and lots of sex toys.

I look forward to being lured with simultaneous adverts for anger management courses and claw-hammers.

They won't be able to do much facial recognition as I don't take my crash helmet off in petrol stations.

I look forward to random ads for tampons and chocolate...

I wonder how it will work when I wear my Clalablava?

The greedy money grabbing bastirts.

That's Tesco off the Christmas Shopping list.

The shocking thing about it is this stuff will be rolled in gradually as most folk have a 0 of fucks to give about it. They cannot see how the tech is being abused by racketeering organisation like Sugar and Tesco to rip folk off.

But how can you stand in the queue waiting to pay, with people behind you looking at ads for porn, dildos, claw hammers, and you get to pull the face of "who the fuck has been searching for this shit?"

You could always get a Jimmy Saville facemask. I reckon that this will win the 'Who can get the most offensive ad' game...

If you read the article you'll see it doesn't actually scan your face. It just tries to recognise your age and gender, then gives you a load of 'related' stuff. Online adverts are more specific than that.

Sounds quite primitive and totally pointless if you ask me. Just another case of the Tesco head office desk monkeys needlessly upgrading the tech of the company just so it looks like they're earning their salaries.

Having been to Simon Sugar's house a fair few times, I wouldn't be surprised if he had the system installed at home so the TV's change channel according to the person who just walked in Laughing
