I like it.

Much nicer front end than the prototype BMW S1000 Naked

i think it would have looked nicer with an underslung exhaust,

bikes just arn't looking likes bikes anymore, they all look like alien crafts,
usually you could get away from that by getting a naked or a "fighter" but even now they are just as bad, all crazy angles

Are Kawasaki angling for a nomination in the "comedy exhaust" category in next years "Nobel Prizes"?
Their recent offerings have been comedy genius!

It's 2013, why the fuck are new bikes still coming with rubber brake lines?

I'd be very surprised if they don't make one as an option.

Kind of like the bike as nakeds are my thang but I'm not sure I'd last too long on dat seat. Confused

Same reason why the majority of new bikes come with crappy tyres. Because it's cheaper. They know somewhere along the lines it will get changed, but not at their expense.

I prefer the feel of rubber brake lines, and if they were cheaper than aftermarket I would alway fit them. The only disavantage of them is finite life as the rubber tends to age.

Does this make you mad?

You also believe there's nothing better than an X5 or a GSXR1100, so your views may not be entirely in line with those of someone buying a new Z1000.

Laughing

It was more a rant at the penny pinching of bike manufacturers, than an actual issue with rubber brake lines. (even though they are shit)

Kinda what it's got at the front, but 40cm higher.
When I first saw the picture I did think it looked like someone had loosened the headlight clamps and not realised it'd dropped Smile.

Triumph have finally made one available for the Speed and Street, or so I've been told.

It's not quite to my taste but it looks a lot nicer in a real picture than it does in that horrible airbrushed-to-unreality photo.

That's a bit rich coming from someone who thinks racing some chinky "bike in a box" C90 derivitive is a worthwhile pursuit.

If it's fun why wouldn't it be? Confused

I don't race the chinese one, I race a jap one, along with 55 other teams of 4 - So there's 200+ people that think it's worthwhile too, having a laugh and raising air ambulamps monies at the same time.

I'm sure your BFF will be along to downrate my posts any moment now though, don't worry. Oh, wait...

I actually agree with Garth about something, it's like an massively ugly Alien that only it's mother could love!

They only did one modern Z1000 that was any good IMO.
The first one in 2003. Bored out ZX9R engine was full of win, and could with exhaust and fueling changes make 135-137bhp at the back tyre. The budget naff forks, shock and lack of handling counted against it though, but the styling was different and interesting.

It was like a Hornet 900 with bigger balls and more attitude, but also has less than awesome handling due to budget suspension, but maybe also because of it's spine frame too?

It would not be hard for Kawasaki to use a modified shortened steeper geometry ZZR1400 frame and engine to make a balls out naked that would be somewhere between an FZ1 and a B-king in terms of style and ability.

And lastly I don't think on a proper naked you need anything except a nice funky headlamp and a set of wide MX Renthals up front. Any kind of fairing or concession to wind blast ruins the look and the hard man image of a 150bhp+ bike completely upright and exposed to the elements!

The Z1000 looks like someone puked on a CB1000R and then said "There, perfect!".

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
