It's the strength of men in comparison to women that makes the difference. For instance, if I hit a man the same size as me yes I might hurt him a little bit ( highly unlikely though) however, if he punched me then he would do me a lot more damage. Men forget that they are a lot stronger than women.
The bloke in that video was huge compared to that women, maybe it could be argued she deserved a slap across the face at most, but not a punch.

About six years ago two drunken chavettes started on my ex missus, trying to provoke a fight. When verbal attacks weren't getting her to respond they threw the first punch and together had her on the ground punching and kicking.

What was I meant to do? I could have easily decked the pair of them and I'm sure the law would not have been in my favour; then-26 year old knocking out two teenage girls. The end result is I could only try to hold them off - complete with them shouting "stop touching me" until they decided to leg it before CCTV spotted them.
