1st source

The new Malaguti Drakon 50cc motorcycle was launched at the NEC this week.

With a two stroke engine, 6 speed gearbox, underseat exhaust - which features a catlyst for cleaner running - three spoke wheels, radial brake caliper, plus unique streetfighter styling, the Drakon is one of the funkiest fifties that money can buy.

It comes with a one year warranty and retails in the UK at £2499.00 including VAT.

For info on your nearest Malaguti dealer, hit www.barrus.co.uk.

2nd source

With the beam frame and liquid cooled engine pinched from Malagutis supermoto XSM50 the new-for-2005 Drakon is one of the trickest 50cc motorcycles around.

Features such as radial calipers, LED tail lights and twin catalyst under seat exhausts, the preserve of MotoGP bikes and top of the range road machines, can all be found on the learner legal 50cc Drakon 50 NKD.

The electric start Drakon is powered by a six speed, liquid cooled, two-stroke motor that complies with Euro 2 emission levels.

Equipped with an onboard computer with tachometer, speedometer, odometer, and clock, the instrumentation also shows acceleration time from 0 to 25mph, battery power and coolant temperature.

Front suspension features 36mm fork tubes while the swingarm is controlled by a monoshock. The aluminum three-spoke wheel rims feature a radial mounted twin pot 280mm disc brake up front and a twin pot 218mm disc brake at the rear.

The engine may only squeeze out 2.5bhp but the Drakon must still be one of the coolest bikes to ride to school on.

With a dry weight of only 112kg, the Drakon features a stylish twin beam headlamp and is available in yellow/blue or 'mean' black colour options and will be priced at £2499.

112kg dry? That's about the same weight as my 125! Looks class though maybe would be a success in 125 form.
