Er, ok.

Amount given to charity by Derivative, 2013: about £100
Amount spent on food by Derivative, 2013: about £1000

Contractual agreements vs. discretionary payments.

Not that my cup of care contains anything for 'Children in Need'.

Eh, it's a cogent reminder that corporate welfare - spending money stolen on the way to our wallets - trumps anything that you or I could bankroll voluntarily from the odd quirks and remnants that make it into our pockets.

Hah yeah bit of a poor statement.

Still interesting though, when you really think about it.

Almost everyone goes on about how they want the world to be a better place, they want things to improve, blah blah blah, yet at the same time they take home more than they actually need for themselves.

That's fine. It's kind of normal really.

It's kind of why I don't give a hoot about charity any more. There's no point pretending to care while not actually contributing to a lasting solution.

When I come to actually care about some kind of charitable cause, I'd rather see myself devoting my whole life to it, or at least a large enough chunk such that my actions have permanent useful consequences. None of this 'spare some change' shit, which clearly hasn't helped anything at all in the past several decades.

No idea what I'm harping on about now so I'll just end this post here.

I think it just goes to show the 'good traditional image of british broadcasting' that BBC still holds with some people is load of smoke and mirrors. Their good gestures and organised events pale into comparison put alongside the utter waste of totally unregulated payments we all fund - whether you actually watch their select few, normally shite-filled channels or not.

Its a bit like google, scrape away the surface of colourful letters and 'developing the future of technology' flag-waving and you have the same bunch of greedy cunts running it as the highstreet bank opposite.

Don't really see what relevance that has to be honest.

I sometimes give my sister lifts to work and such. However, I spend far more of my riding miles carting myself around. Does this make me selfish or something?

At least the people getting made redundant by the BBC are getting something from it. Plenty of people would get nothing.

2007 article relating to a 2005 payment.

Still, it's reassuring to know that, for 24 hours a year, the public truly care for the plight of some of the less privileged children in the UK.

As you're full of stats, what would the payouts in wages have been were the redundancy payouts not made?

Are you really suggesting that redundancy payouts are a bad thing?
