Do you have to pay tax on accommodation provided as part of your job?

TL:DR massive bunch of PRC students are arriving at a university nearby, they justify the not very good wage with it being residential and therefore all food/bills/accommodation is included, which totting up my rent and bills is kind of worth about £5-600 a month (or around £7K).

I expect the government might see it the same way and demand its pound of flesh from that.

Any ideas?

First up, it'd be the cost to them not the value to you. Electricity etc. is much cheaper on a large building and you only have a small proportion of it. WiFi? I would guess pennies on a per person basis. Food? I bet they don't pay as much for ingredients as you do...
<edit> rent may be a different matter and be local market rates.

Anyway, I bet it costs them virtually nothing to keep you. Then... I don't think they will start taxing low earners for small perks - imagine the outcry in the news if they did!

tl;dr don't worry - it's happened for years...

It also depends what you mean by 'job'.

Student income sources are generally not taxable income. Grants, PhD stipend, scholarships, etc.

Interestingly enough I can't find any cap on this.

https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2005/5/section/776

£15k is possible for a PhD stipend in actuality, the maximum is not really tested because students are not really in demand.
