She'd painted the bathroom purple.

It took me and the landlord four coats of white emulsion to bring it back to a semblance of reality.

I never lived in the flat before it was painted but I was left somewhat scarred by it.

Purple is one of those colours that I find unpleasant in almost all its varieties. I do have the odd purple belonging here and there, but I find that people who invoke the use of purple to prove how "funky" they are, are simply proving to the rest of the world that they are really only as funky as the rest of the weirdoes that like that colour.

Purple-adoring people are a very strange breed indeed. They never really realise when they have crossed "the line" that people with normal taste in colours seem to understand.

It could be a very nice house, but in its present form, its deeply unpleasant.

And yeah: the bed in the dining room is the epitome of wrongness.

Its been bugging me for DAYS why that looks weird, but M3 Paul (above) is right: its the fact that it makes the dining room look like a chapel of rest. Creepy.
