The only issue I have with it is I never know how much is still on the bike as it's pretty much invisible so I always end up putting a bit more on after every wash lol

Stop washing the bike then.... Rolling Eyes

That layer of crud is the best protection against salt going.

I swear by it, I applied it from new to my £720 Chinese fake-away, reapplied before the gritters came out, and it was still near mint after 3 winters.

I've smothered my chinese c90 in it, and will continue to do so until the can runs out, then I'll buy another next winter.

Apparantly the best way is to spray it in the lid and apply with a rag, but my bike was already covered in shit so I just sprayed it ontop of that.

Looks pretty disgusting now.

Is there an easy way of getting ACF-50 0ff? I recently spent ages and a small fortune on Jizer to remove some.

I just went with the cheaper option of Scottoiler's FS 365 and dowsed the bike in it earlier after a quick rinse down.. Bike sure does smell nice and started with a nice cloud of smoke rising from it .. I did douse the front of the headers as that's where a lot of shit gets thrown Twisted Evil

Probably use it more sparingly afterwards now since I know it has a decent coat of the stuff on it now, just to keep it topped up Very Happy

It is great stuff, and really does work.

I use a freebie spray gun attached to my rather cheap compressor.

Then bike gets a good clean with degreaser. I then grease all joints, bolts, electrical connectors and anything else that needs it. I let the bike dry for a day or take it for a little blast.

I then put my spray gun on a low flow setting and coat the bike fully once a year. Under the tank, in all the nooks a crannies. I use bin bags around the wheels and brakes. Any bits that get over done I wipe off with a rag. Through winter I may touch up some areas like the front and bottom of the engine and area around the rear wheel maybe once or twice if required.

Come spring/summer, I give the bike another clean and apply a light coat only to the exposed parts of the bike to tide it over till winter comes back around.

My 2006 ZX6R does not have a single spot of rust or oxidation on it.

Why take it off ?

I used it last winter. Never washed bike until they stopped putting salt on the roads. About 4 months.
In spring.
After a few decent washes with wash wax stuff. The bike gets clean.

I wanted it off because I intended selling the bike and it didn't look pretty caked-up with that shit.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Winter I use ACF-50, dont clean the bike and the chain gets a coating of Wurth dry chain wax every week or 2 without a clean.

In spring I take parafin to the chain to get the crud off, by then its thick with road shit and salt. Re apply oil or wax and clean the bike.
