Excellent and well done. Where did you take your Mod 2? Feel any different?
I was so chuffed when the instructor said to me 'give me the earpiece and radio and keep up with me ' as we left Mitcham for Vauxhall. Great ride home. Very Happy

We went to the test centre at Kingswood, Bristol. I was expecting a cold, cold start and bought some warmer gloves last week as I'd got a bit cold. I also put the thermal lining back in my jacket and trousers. As it turned out, the forecast rain was early so it was wet but not as cold as expected. The rain stopped by the time of the test.

I was pretty sure I'd made enough small mistakes to fail but in fact I was only given one fault, for hesitation at a junction. Feel different? Mainly, I'm relieved to have passed first time and not have to put more hours in.

Bikes that I'm considering are:

Suzuki SFV650
Kawasaki ER-6f
Honda CBF600 (most of my lessons and my test were on an '04 one of these)
Honda CB600F
Yamaha XJ6 Diversion

I want something that is a sensible commuter (25 miles each way into north Bristol from Somerset) but could also be used for some leisure riding.

I tried all of those and some others and settled on the naked XJ. I didn't really find the fairing on the divvy made much differrence. So I spent the money on the XJ6N with ABS, the ABS seeming more worth it than having a fairing.

You should think about adding a Yamaha FZ6 to that list. Good first bike, does commuting and can be fun too.
