Unlucky, same thing happened to my mate. He borrowed a CBF125.
I nearly did it but I had been ragging the Varadero around for a year, so I was pretty comfortable with it when it came to test time, which is why I personally don't like the idea of borrowing a bike.
I went without training, just watched videos on youtube and practised in sainsburys car park with my dad when it got dark and until the police came.
I remember it was absolutely pissing it down adn they were going to cancel my mod 1 and I begged the giant, he was about 6ft8, and he said "OK, don't crash though" I hit the speed trap at 38mph, I took the corner in third and slipped the clutch a bit to get the engine spinning as I left, the bloke seemed impressed with my bike skill, he even commented on my mod 2 when I managed to balance it for a few seconds t a roundabout.
Sorry I'm now talking about my test!
I imagine you shouldn't get it wrong a second time Like someone else said use it as an experience. ____________________ Current:1991 Honda MT50 (Soon to be a H100/MTX/MT5 hybrid), 1976 Honda Cub C70, 2005 Honda Varadero 125, 1993 Yamaha TTR250 Open Enduro , 2010 Road Legal Stomp YX140, 1994 Honda CRM 250 MK III, 1999 Cagiva Mito 125, 1992 Honda CB400 Super Four, Stomp T4 230, 1984 Honda H100s, 2009 Sym XS125K

Thanks for all the advice guys, you all seem to say the same thing (including my instructor), so im not going to apply any pressure at all to the rear brake, just keep my foot above it and use the front brake |

I have my Mod 2 resit on the 25th as well. Supposedly the weather will be shit. Good luck..... |
In B'ham it's meant to be cold but no rain so not too bad here luckily.
& Good luck with ur mod2!
I think that's a good idea to practise, never really thought about doing that, but i think i will do a bit of practise on my own over the weekend. |
I did mine at Garretts Green! I would definitly suggest practising, an abandoned car park s perfect, the U turn can be attempted to be done in a parking spot, won't do it, but will make the real thing seem huge! The slalom in between abandoned spaces, it's almost perfect, plus if it's blocked paved = low traction = more chance of skidding = more effort put into brake control ____________________ Current:1991 Honda MT50 (Soon to be a H100/MTX/MT5 hybrid), 1976 Honda Cub C70, 2005 Honda Varadero 125, 1993 Yamaha TTR250 Open Enduro , 2010 Road Legal Stomp YX140, 1994 Honda CRM 250 MK III, 1999 Cagiva Mito 125, 1992 Honda CB400 Super Four, Stomp T4 230, 1984 Honda H100s, 2009 Sym XS125K

I was on the understanding that a brake lock up is not an instant fail ??? if you can release the lock and reapply the brakes its a controlled stop none the less !! A lot to do under test conditions though..
As above don't use the rear brake but if you do and it locks just release.. ____________________ Fuelly My Z1000SX
