Finally got employment so I'm going to be looking for a new bike while I start saving...
Can't decide what I want though!
Sports 600's seem to be around £1300 a year to insure, except for the gsxr600 which is around £800.
Bandit 600 renewal is £376.92 and the Bandit 1200 is only a penny more a year so that could be another option
I can insure pretty much any naked 1000 for a grand or less.
Insurance budget is around £1300, not fussed if it is 1300 aslong as the bikes a decent so that I feel it's worth the money!
Ideally I want a sports 600, but I wouldn't mind something like a street/speed triple R.
Preferably want something over 100bhp as the bandit is putting out 82bhp atm and it just doesn't seem enough
Fire away guys! ____________________ Bandit 600 - deaded |

Your insurance quotes seem really high to me, have you done all the usual comparison sites and the like
For my 05 ZX6 [and similar for other 05-07 600s] I was quoted around 900-1000 fully comp at 20 years old, having just passed my full license, ended up going TPFT which was around 750.
Subsequently each has dropped about 200 quid every year since then.
What sort of bike budget did you have in mind |

Would be interested in track days Just not allowed at most of the local tracks (Oulton Park etc) due to being on the 33bhp licence...although I don't want that affecting the bike choice
I like ragging the bike basically, prefer IL4 over V twin unless it's something like an SP2 or RSVR I'd have a tuono but I can't get quotes on one!
My quotes are high due to having points and living in a shit hole (BB postcode, ranked E* or something like that!)
Bike budget, I'm not really fussed as most don't seem to go over £200 a month on finance anyway which is probably what I'll be doing
I do love the old fireblades but I can't seem to get quotes on them!
The tracks actually a go karting track, 3 sisters, they do a charity bike trackday on the 2nd tuesday of every month though. Not a fast track but is a good laugh for a tenner for 10 laps ____________________ Bandit 600 - deaded |

I've got a ZZR600 on restrictors from Kickstart engineering on e-bay
Runs quite happily, if you keep the revs up when you're trying to build speed it's happy.
Insurance was about £500 for someone with one years no claims who'd only done test half a year previously. ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

Chalky, I do like the look of the cb1300 and I've heard it's a torque monster which I like the sound of! Insurance is unbelievably cheap so it may be a possibilty!
Black Sheep, restrictors aren't really an issue. I have some for the bandit from kickstart. But they don't seem to be very effective on my bedside table ____________________ Bandit 600 - deaded |

I was tempted by the street triple but I am tempted by a full on sports bike. Like you say though it's the insurance and a Bking would probably have the same performance as a fully faired sports 600 due to it's power anyway
It's tempting aswell due to how low the insurance is! I do think they are ugly but in a big muscular sort of way? New cans would be the first thing I'd change anyway as I hate the originals!
I've got a while to thing it through anyway! My mate has the daytona and he says it is brilliant plus his 100+mph wheelies sort of sell the bike to me even though most bikes of similar power could do it I guess.
Hornets and Fazers are a bit low in the power department really. I want a bit of a jump again. I loved the feeling going from the 125 to the 600 when you open it up for the first time and hold on for your life! ____________________ Bandit 600 - deaded |

Insurance on a 2009 Tuono is cheaper for me by around £50 than the CB1300 for some reason. I think I may be on to a winner! ____________________ Bandit 600 - deaded |

Just going to play it by year. £1300 doesn't really seem that expensive though, especially compared to what my mates are paying on their cars, what quotes I'm getting on cars and also the fact I'd be 20 year old with such a quick machine
I do think a big naked is looking favourite though! ____________________ Bandit 600 - deaded |
