Content of rust.
You can get a 2011/12 YBR if you look around for <£1500
Far less if you step back to 10 and under models, whats the obsession with a newer one... they are all the same |

I'll just repost my comment from the other CBF thread:

I think they understand the market perfectly. The CBF125 is neck and neck with the YBR as the UK's best selling bike, despite a laundry list of common issues: Friday finish, corrosion, fuel pump/tank lining, running dry and seizing. That Honda reputation goes a long way: MCN still have the CBF rated at 4 stars, again despite admitting that their test bike rusted up a treat in short order. Owners do seem to make excuses for them that they wouldn't for a Chinese branded bike at under half the price. |
They look great and no mistake. They should be great. I'm sure many owners get a good 'un that never gets the tin worm, and are perfectly happy with them.
But really, they're a very cheap Indian bike, designed for the Indian climate and Indian market. We get the exact same bikes, with a basic fuel injection system bolted on.
The same can be said of the YBR, with s/Indian/Chinese/, but the YBR seems to have fewer common issues, just a bit of chrome bubbling.
I'd seriously consider the "AJS Eco", which makes a credible claim of being the domestic carbed YBR, for just over half the price of the injected export bike. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

It's not hate, it's (for me) just disappointment that it's not an unqualified great bike. A Honda shouldn't need to be dosed with ACF-50 or be given regular gulps of oil.
What really gets me is that they've had several years to sort out these well known issues but there are still wrong 'uns leaving dealers. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Quite nice that Eco, will look around for some reviews but they seem quite new and over £1k at the mo ____________________ Triumph Street Triple-R
