Hi,
Just bought a YP250 on a whim really as I put in a really cheeky bid. Looking to use it purely for commuting duties through the winter.

Anyone had any experience of them? Anything specific to check/look out for?

Thanks

My lad had one pre passing his test
I was always borrowing it and loved scooting about on it.
(Funny 'real bikers' didnt nod to me on it like they did when I was on my 1000cc beemer, I wore the same clothes maybe it was the L plates?)

Anyway I do recall the regulator going and I put Shindengen one from a CX500 on it was fine after that
and I also swapped out the brake switches but that was all if memory serves apart from normal servicing

Sadly it started a horrible knocking one day and I found play on the
crank to suggest the crank bearings had gone.
It wasnt due to lack of oil but he did take on quite a few longish runs (for a scoot).
Bristol to Rugby, Bristol to Torquay etc all A road stuff
and I reckon what with him being a bloody big lad, the poor thing just couldnt cope with that sort of use.

I''m sure for commuting it would have lasted longer

Enjoy it!

Dont bother nodding to those filthy nasty biker types though !

Yep, that's the one. On the rear brake lever there's a switch which locks the rear brake on (I suppose it might be handy if you're parked on a hill or something?).
Let me know what you have when it's convenient, and what you want for them.
Thanks a lot,
Rich

Would it be possible to take a few measurements. Length of the cables and also the ends?

It sure does look like a suzuki one, unless you have a part number on it I could trace.

Min is getting ready for replacing but I haven't got round to it yet

No, the Majesty has gone now. Good bike but just wasn't getting any use as I preferred the Bandit.
