Interesting.
I'd preer ome mention of Kevlar used in those though. Just for more peace of mind. I'm guessing the American market probably doesn't call for that extra though.

Personally I'm looking for a textile trouser that has protection (soft armour and abrasion) that I can wear on the bike and also looks ok in the office. Nearest I can find are the cargo style. Those tend to look a little too casual. Other textile ones seem to have the brand name plastered over the legs. Again not appropriate for the office. I know Hein Gericke did a pair of black trousers/jeans that were ideal but not available for many years.

Don't look too bad to be fair, although the material looks like a velvet cushion, not sure how trusting i'd be of them in an off Shifty

Oooh, pre-distressed, perfect for washing a Harley or piling on its 20 annual miles riding to and from its service. Rolling Eyes

So a little tight in the groinal area for the UK market I suspect.

The 2 jeans that are currently on my 'buy before the summer' list are the Dainese D6 and the Rev'It lombard jeans

Both these are, in my opinion, quite innovative.
Rather than a regular pair of jeans with reinforcements, these two use Kevlar and Cordura respectively actually woven into the fabric of the denim. The result is (apparently) 4 times the abrasion resistance of regular denim, the key areas are then further internally reinforced in the traditional way. As riding jeans go, I think they are actually quite stylish Smile

That design looks suspiciously similar to a certain style of 'biker' jeans that the Korean fashion shops on eBay have been stocking since prehistory. IIRC those fashion jeans were knockoffs of some jeans by one of those big European fashion houses. Seems to me that some enterprising fellow just took those eBay jeans, added some pockets for armour and jacked up the price.

Currently have one of their lids & love it. Trouser selections pretty poor however.

I've always loved their stuff, they're absolutely huge in the USA but here it can be hard to find a lot of their products i've found, unless i'm just not looking hard enough The world's smallest violin player, just for you!

Imported a couple of their textile/mesh jackets for summer years back and they're the best i've ever owned by far. Dead cheap as well for what you get, if you ignore the postage-rape Thumbs Down

Can't give the specific product name as i've de-bagged n' tagged ages ago, but its near identical if not this
https://a248.e.akamai.net/origin-cdn.volusion.com/wzgro.nnwmd/v/vspfiles/photos/2820-1851A-2.jpg?1329467655
Versus the average UK textile/mesh gear its far superior though - i can only presume they invest a lot more time into the heat reduction side of things as they're catering more to the U.S market and particulaly stunting riders etc that aren't getting the wind-chill most of the time to cool them down.

I generally struggle to get snug fitting 2-piece gear, even if its leathers let alone textile or mesh. The equivalent UK alpinestars shite hangs like a binbag with armour flapping in the wind, or is so tight the armour digs in when you move your arms about much, but the Icon stuff seems to flex comfortably without compromising on the actual positioning on the armour.

Similar with icon gloves - again summer wear only in this case, but really ventilated without feeling flimsy or insecure.

Also have used an icon back protector for a while which was fine, but i was forced to ditch it in the end as the RST 1-piece wouldn't pocket it Thumbs Down

I'm getting another pair of these when I have the cash, £89 with knee armour - best to wear a set of therms underneath for winter riding though. Tough and not too emo tight like a lot of bike gear Laughing
