OK so I'm pretty naive with eBay, I hear horror stories so thought I'd ask you wise bunch. Probably not the right forum but I do need advice after all.
Why is there so much cheap BNIB stuff on eBay? Is it all nicked?
For example, I'm looking for a pair of good in-ear type headphones at the moment, I like these:
https://en-uk.sennheiser.com/earphones-headphones-sound-isolating-cx-400-ii
But fuck me £65!
So onto eBay I go and there are ones like this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161157755148
£25. How come?
I even saw some for £16 (sold quick).
So what's the deal? Are they safe? ____________________ Trev, now a biker?

In my follacious youth, I worked on a barrow stall selling mint "fire damaged" new stuff that had been written off by insurers and bought for buttons.
I don't really have a point, I'm just flashing my street cred, blud. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Well I can't seem to find out how to order them direct from Sennheisers website, and I'm not sure I even trust Amazon as there are so many reviews of them going wrong and breaking.
May have to go for Nocs MS400 instead simply because I can actually buy them! ____________________ Trev, now a biker?

I'd only buy sennheisers from the offical Amazon seller or other reasonable reputably source (ie a big chain outlet shop on ebay).
You always used to be able to get significant discounts off the RRP for official ones.
Only fake thing I've got recently was two SD cards. Bought on ebay with paypal with the expectation they might be, so first thing I did was test them. Buyer refunded me with an extra £3 to send them back, never got around to it so I was quids in; was going to scrawl 'fake across' them to be sure. He claimed he "couldn't test them because they were in a sealed pack" - sealed with one staple that didn't even need to be removed to get inside .
I want to get a proper hobby charger so I can test batteries. |

Think I've seen the same seller TBH. Did they also say they would only replace faulty ones if they were in the original, unopened packaging? |
