What's yours?

Mine is pulling string out of my body, can remember having this on 3 occassions, first time was between my fake tooth, find a bit of string and keep pulling it and pulling it

Last night it was some string poking out my neck, I pull it to find it keeps coming out, it gets stuck in places and I pull it wuite hard throguh expecting it to snap, but it doesn't, it just keeps coming out, it feels weirdly relieving to pull it out my stomach

Eventually my hand has loads of string wrapped around it and i'm still pulling, except I can't pull anymore, it's stuck, I pull really hard and feel i'm about to pull an organ out? Then I wake up Laughing

Time before this it was that blue crap construction rope you get and the rope had knots down it so I would have to pull them through as well which was weird.

Maybe i'm getting bummed in the night Thinking

You were hung, drawn and quartered in a past life. Traitor!

Mine's only the ability to fly, albeit slowly lifting up and floating about a bit. I start thinking things like 'this'll be handy for getting to work'.

It's quite disappointing waking up sometimes Crying or Very sad

My most common is really quite worrying.

In my dream, I have murdered somebody (my conscious self is never sure who, but I don't think that matters). I am terrified of the consequences, and genuinely do feel the terror. I'm not sure if I feel any regret; I think sometimes I do, and it just drives me even more mad. The police come and interview me and I almost shit myself in fear. They visit me in my home, and they take me in for questioning. Various other events take place, I become more and more paranoid and unable to cope with daily life. Friends and relatives talk to me, I am terrified that they suspect me, terrified that one of them may know something and may tell or be informing the police on me...a few times when I have reached this stage, if I haven't woken up by now, I pack a rucksack and camping gear and disappear off into the wilderness, either because my paranoia has finally driven me over the edge or because I know/believe that the police are en route to arrest me right now. Then I wake up and it takes me a while to pull myself together and realise it was a dream, and in actual fact the people in the dream had no identities (they weren't people I knew in real life).

Most commonly I've bought a new car, or similarly expensive extravagance, and I'm always slightly disappointed to find I haven't when I wake up.

I'll admit to that one now and again, I'm only bothered about being caught and start thinking of ways to get rid of the body. No sign of the cops at all!

It's still a relief to wake up after those ones, what a lot of bother to have a dead body to dispose of!

I took Psychology as an A-level at school (hated it, walked out of my exam halfway through and got a U Laughing). I always remember one of my teachers saying that one common dream is that your teeth are falling out, and he said it means you're afraid of getting older. I dunno if that's the correct meaning, but I for one have certainly dreamt on a few occasions that my teeth were all dropping out into my mouth. Feels really realistic, like your mouth is full of little stones. My mum said she's had that dream too. Interesting Thinking

Teeth ones quite common in lots of people, usually relates to health anxiety - your first memories of health problems are usually when you start having teething pain as a baby and subconsciously remember, and then later in childhood the pain and worry of wobbling and losing your baby teeth. The dreams are usually made more realistic by the fact you often can grind your teeth during them so it makes the sensation extremely realistic.

Either that or you're due to have your teeth broken in a horrendous turn of events Wink

Only semi-common ones i have are all relating to my bike and car Laughing normally some ridiculous scenario like a flood washing them away, mysterious rust eating them up overnight or them being stolen. Hopefully its not a premonition...

The worst part for me is either the feeling of genuine terror, which I definitely feel during the dream and takes at least a few minutes of groggy consciousness to go after I wake up, or it is the concern that I may be a sociopath that only cares about my own sorry behind and what benefits me.

This is happening too often to me. The dream isn't quite as elaborate as yours, but it's very similar. I wake up convinced I've murdered someone. The guilt is immense in those moments of waking. It will take me long minutes to realise none of it's true.

But at its worst I begin to think that I really have murdered someone - years ago, and that I somehow managed to forget about it. That I was so guilt-ridden I kind of put myself under self-hypnosis and erased any memory of the crime - almost like the reverse of the Manchurian Candidate. And when I wake up it's as though all this weird conditioning I put myself through, years ago, to evade feelings of remorse, has come undone. And in the process a crushing weight of guilt is falling on me. It really is pretty fucking terrifying.

I just don't get it. Yeah I've occasionally been a bit of a bastard to people down the years - not done right by mates, two/three-timed girlfriends, stolen chocolate from shops, etc. etc. But fucking hell. Why the fuck is my mind guilt-tripping me with this really heavy shit about murder. It's sort of starting to get to me a bit tbh.

So we have people who die a lot in dreams and people who murder people in dreams. Maybe the dreamworld is like the matrix

The only sort of recurring dream I have is really uncomfortable fight dreams where either:
-They run and I'm really slow in the dream, feet lose grip above a walking pace
-I try to punch somebody and either miss or it's pathetic and they laugh, or my arm goes all floppy and I can't control it properly.

I get both of those but every time I've woken during the floppy-armed punch dream I've had a dead arm from lying on it in my sleep.

I'm not bothered by my 'murderer' dreams as they're all allegorical/esoteric and are never to be taken literally.

In reality I feel bad about accidentally killing spiders Wink

I have dreams where I am being chased, sometimes I can run normally and other times I find it hard. Like running in slow motion while whatever is chasing me keeps getting closer and closer...

You need one of these:

https://www.libertytreecollectors.com/productcart/pc/catalog/SKS736.JPG

The trauma you feel upon waking is the fear and trepidation experienced by all people planning to go innawoods without a SKS. Without such a brilliant sistema for hunting and self-defence from hungry critters you are bound to feel some kind of fear as you know you will be weak and powerless surrounded by the brutal forces of nature.

Clearly the UK government has no idea of the psychological stress it is causing its citizens. Forcing them to go innawoods but making SKS' illegal is like forcing a boat to sail without a sail!

But I hear they've come up with a solution: banning psychological stress. Oh government yuo are my greatest ally and truly know what is best for me.

I never used to have many dreams generally, but since being on Citalopram one of the side effects seems to be vivid very fucked up dreams about all kinds of random stuff. If I took any notice of them I would have probably thrown myself of a bridge by now.

I've been everything from a ticket collector to a serial killer in some of said dreams, and I've done stuff so bizarre that I cannot even imagine where a brain would generate such thoughts from?

tl,dr Take nutter pills and have crazy sick dreams fairly often that freak you out!

Another thing I get is sleep paralysis where my brain seems to be awake but my body is totally inert and immoveable. Now *that* is frightening. I try to shout or bite my tongue or something/anything to, well, wake my body up. But even the slightest movement is impossible.

So I'm on Whitstable rec where I used to play as a child, and everyone I know is there, but in a sort of shadow of themselves dead form. As new people enter my life and my social groups change the people I see more frequently are clearer and at the front.

Then inexplicably I am on a boat flying through the air with the kids tv show animated cast of starship troopers. We crash into a moon and they all die. Then a typical alien (like the ones you used to grow in jelly) hits me over the head with a paintbucket and then when I'm on the floor pours off white paint down my throat until I die. Interestingly there's a few moments where I'm aware of the empty nothing before waking up.

I have this dream a few times a month.
I also have been dreaming of my crash I had in May frequently recently. My good lady tells me I'll violently crunch into a ball and grab my foot. Strange.

Recurring dream is end of the world scenario with no other people left.

However there is no obvious cause, no dead people, everything is intact and normal, just everyone has gone and I don't know why. Spend my time stealing cars and going into houses.

I do enjoy those dreams.
