Please take a minute to sign this petition against the Peak District National Park Authority (PDNPA) enforcing Traffic Regulation Orders on green lanes, potentially setting a precedent for the rest of the country.
https://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/peak-district-national-park-authority-we-call-on-the-peak-district-national-park-authority-to-stop-imposing-traffic-regulation-orders-on-our-green-lanes?share_id=tumWzKtHwP&utm_campaign=signature_receipt&utm_medium=email&utm_source=share_petition
This is important for the rights of all user groups to enjoy the countryside and green lanes together. The PDNPA are a very questionable organisation, seemingly supportive of walkers having sole rights of these green lanes. Their reasons for closing the lanes do not make sense for example, to protect wildlife such as ground nesting birds, yet dogs are likely to roam and disturb any area of adjacent land, far off the path where motorcycles would not venture.
“Legally you do not have to use a lead on public paths but we ask people to be responsible particularly during the breeding season, and always use a lead if you can’t rely on your dog’s obedience.”
These dog owners are not being banned like motorcyclists. Why not the same approach for us? This is just one example. Why not at least take some measures to reduce or control motorcycle numbers, if they are such a problem, as has been successful on other green lanes. Like seasonal restrictions, or permits.
Please give your support. Even if you never ride green lanes in the Peaks, this could have an effect all over the country. |

The problem is that the PDNPA is an unelected QUANGO.
The don't have to answer to anyone locally!
A bunch of self serving NIMBY's, if ever there was one! ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |

Local paper is on the case!
https://www.bakewelltoday.co.uk/news/local/petition-to-ban-closure-of-green-lanes-launched-1-6220663
There are actually over 4000 sigs now, more would help!
It appears the QUANGO involved, the Peak District National Park Authority, (PDNPA), are no better than any other bunch of, non elected, authoritarians and have been less than forthcoming with the truth! ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |

Is that your comment after it, could do with more because once the ramblers and 'friends of' types spot it they'll message each other and blitz it with formulaic letters about how evil and scary distant bike noise was when they were out thinking beautiful and pure thoughts on a quiet hillside. |

Yes, I left a couple of comments, I've signed up with the TRF forum and left the link there, hopefully they'll weigh in with a few more comments, they left a few with the article Mrs Suntan linked to!
As it stands, there are a couple of FOI requests in and someone has had a meeting with their MP about conflicts of interest and general corruption within the QUANGO, that is the PDNPA!
The PDNPA are really a nasty, nepotistic, vindictive, self serving, unelected, bunch of two faced bastards. Even outwith the TRO issues any dealings with them are farcical, they couldn't get any further up their own arses! ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |
