Well It's pretty mad, I'm supposed to take it easy till the first service, but it is a mad wheelie machine, and it feels like an xl125 with a 900 cc engine. It feels light, that may be because I am used to a Pan Euro the last month or so!
It's very easy to ride, very grunty torque, it has variable power maps selected from a button on the right switch gear, I thought it was a bit gimmicky but there are noticeable differences between the modes, I didn't push it round the bends because of damp roads and new tyres but it feels inspiring. The brakes feel as they should, plenty of stopping power and lever feel. Mirrors work well, not too much elbow, rev counter hard to see, but I never really look at them anyway. |

Nice bike Misscrabstick!
Have to ask though why so many bikes? Do you ride the Thunderace much as well? They are so massive value for a sporty sports tourer with a furnace of an engine these days.
Paddy, You might regret the test ride on the MT dude, I was in at my local dealer's last Friday just to buy some chain lube, and look at the Draggin jeans.
Saw my first new MT09 in the showroom and had a little sit on and look over the beast. The dealer geezer came bouncing over and he was really wanting me to take out their test demo the next day if I was free. I asked him has he sold any yet, and he told me he's signed the paperwork on 11 of them so far, and as we spoke a girl was out test riding the demo who looked interested!
I made up some excuses about having to babysit the neighbour's dog and got out fast before it was too late! |

Cool for you. There's not many that have experienced that new bike smell.
On Tuesday I had a good gander at the new Yamahas. As I waggled the chainguard on a MT-07 my daughter asked what is was made of. Plastic I said, then one of the Yamaha salesmen said it's not it's ABS.
