Hello everyone, I'm new on here and need help getting my dna tuned (specs in signature). I've been up and down forums, but still can' t seem to get my dna riding properly.

Currently I have 32.5 grams in roller weights installed (3x5 + 3x5.5), a red malossi contra spring and blue malossi clutch springs. From what I've read, the bike should be making peak power somewhere around 12k rpm, problem is, when I rev that high the bike vibrates, a lot! It seems as if I'm seconds away from the engine exploding...

Any ideas on what might be causing this? Is it normal with such a setup on a piaggio engine block?
I was thinking maybe a slightly unbalanced crank or worn crank bearings?

I'd appreciate some help....it's becoming hard to find Gilera dna owners...

Thanks in advance.

+1 to the guy above.

Realisticly the best way to find out where you have gone wrong is to put everything back and add parts in stages. Again simply repeating what _Iain_ said adding lots of parts all at once makes it very difficult to trace where you have gone wrong.

Thanks for the reply guys.

Unfortunately, going back to standard is not an option. I've had this bike for years now, but haven't ridden it that much because of work. The standard parts I did away with over the years and I just never got around to tuning the new parts. I recently took up trying to get it running right.

I'm hoping someone with a similar setup that runs well might reply and give me some insight..

I suspect because you are seconds away from blowing the crank, pretty sure the red line is 10-11k on those.

just put in a racing crank like the italians french germans dutch do ( in other words the 2s scooter experts of the world lol ) and you can rev to about 18,000rpm.

you ll need to uprate the con rod small and big end bearings and possibly the reeds depending whats on it.
