I'm wanting a supermoto, but want to be able to use it on some green lanes too and get a bit muddy. I want it to be fun, hard to control etc but it must be reliable as I'm pretty lazy with maintainance.
The only road riding it would really get is up to 10 miles at a time, country/town roads so not going to need triple figures.
Budget not too much of an issue but I want something that I can piss around on and will likely get dropped.
Thought of a drz400, will it be ok offroad though? Just seen this too https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Husqvarna-610-Supermoto-/161162773255?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item25860cc307
Any input appreciated...

Personally I would go for the husky, better suspension, similar weight, more power, and supposedly just as reliable, although having not ridden either I can't really comment.
Just for mud I would suggest a 250, my TTR has plenty of power to get me in trouble in the mud, on road it still can get me told off by the policemans, and the knobblies will still sometimes kick out under power on tarmac, and it's only 24hp uncorked maximum, I reckon.
For more road stuff, I would suggest a bigger bike, mine runs out of puff at about 55mph, not leaving a lot left for overtaking or if I need a sudden burst of power for some reason, and being a trail bike, the brakes aren't really good enough to pull me up if I need it, so mostly I ride it on the road with a bit of caution. ____________________ Current:1991 Honda MT50 (Soon to be a H100/MTX/MT5 hybrid), 1976 Honda Cub C70, 2005 Honda Varadero 125, 1993 Yamaha TTR250 Open Enduro , 2010 Road Legal Stomp YX140, 1994 Honda CRM 250 MK III, 1999 Cagiva Mito 125, 1992 Honda CB400 Super Four, Stomp T4 230, 1984 Honda H100s, 2009 Sym XS125K

Thanks.
Just realised the Husky is kick start only - not sure I could be arsed with that.
I'd like to be able to do 80ish tbh, but not be too heavy in mud. Am I asking for the impossible? |
