My advice would be not to purchase a dynavolt battery , mine lasted a couple of weeks the importer or manufacture don't bother replying, pay the extra and purchase a better quality item , buying cheap in this case is definatly false economy.

Why don't you take it back to the shop?

Considering various companies import Dynavolt batteries and the manufacturer is overseas I can't quite work out what you expect them to do considering your contract is with the shop.

There are possibly other factors to consider.
If the battery was in 1st class condition where the OP bought it, it could be the charging system on the bike that could be screwing up the battery

I had a Dynavolt battery on my ER5 and it was brilliant. (Probably still is, Paddy/Nemo..?)
Sounds like plain old bad luck.

All I can do is relay my actual experience onto others so that they don't get suckered into buying a dynavolt battery just because they are cheap if something appears to good to be true it usually is

Or maybe your regulator rectifier is fried and it's overcharging your battery? Rolling Eyes

You do realise that someone from dynavolt might consider what you've written as libellous?

No , facts, my bike now works with only a change of battery, what can you read into that?

That this battery is going to die or boil and leak.

I've had Yuasa batteries die on my SV650.. regulator/stator issues.

You've replaced the battery and it hasn't been three weeks! My god don't you know dynavolt battery replacements have a 3 week discharge time, wait until 3 weeks are up and come back on.

To test you battery you need a large screw driver, lightly press the metal shaft across the positive and negative terminals, caution though this has to be done in bike, with the fuel filler cap open and a naked flame dropped in to test fuel levels, if you get a small explosion the battery is fine, if nothing happens replace battery, use a bigger screw driver and rub bike over with a petrol soaked rag.

(In case of severe knob head syndrome, the above advice is crap and should be tried by anyone except stupid dicks who like to complain and moan, also for legal bods, do not listen to my advice)
