Just been around to the garage and seen this in the workshop..
Some kid went down on a roundabout apparently, must of been quite hard to snap exhaust hanger bracket and the brake lever clamp straight off the clip on, either that or Yamaha are using really shit bracket parts for the R125 lol

Had to remove pics sorry !

Same problems on the same side when i had my accident on my old r125.

Hit the side of the car head on, i went up n over, the bike apparently went up on its nose momentarily then 'flopped' on its side no harder than accidently dropping it - entire right side was fucked, everything bent or snapped. Woman had a whopping great big bill for replacing each and every little bit in the end as we did it outside insurance.

Cheese n pastry parts i'm inclined to think.

There's a couple parked in my street during the week.

They look like they're made of the same stuff that they make plastic cutlery with.

Not really. The plastics on them are polyethylene unlike plastic cutlery which is polystyrene. PE is stronger and more flexible but the shitty thing is its almost impossible to glue back together if you break it. As for the rest of the bike, r125's are well made quality bikes hence their high price.

Mechanically mine was faultless i'd agree there, and performance wise for a 125 it was decent. Not sure about the price tag though, on new ones anyway - i think they just ramp it up as its one of the very few 'cool' 125s that 'everyone wants' so a lot of people with rich parents will ask for it no matter what, and they milk it.

By the look of his tyres the rider hadn't choose the best time of year to push his limits. Probably finally got some use of his sliders though...and scraped a foot peg Thumbs Up

As per the above - often a fast crash may not be so bad, as it hasn't got as far to fall; while a slower crash with the bike upright will see more momentum on the way down.

My first R125 - Written off after a smidsy with a van, as the repairs would have cost more than it was insured for (£3,000)

My second R125 - Repair bill of £3,500. After being rear ended by a van while stationary at a give way junction.

Hardly what I'd call cheap.

It's a lot cheaper to repair yourself or with you paying a garage than it is if insurance is footing the bill. Wink

Avoid vans.

Same thing happened to me... so i bought a full fairing kit, forks etc off ebay for less than half a grand.
You see its the labour and over priced yamaha parts that shot the repair cost to £3,500.
