Anyone purchased an absolute bargain from a foolish seller this month or planing to do so next?
Could be that silly season is upon us and I've made a couple of purchases recently the most notable being a 2007 CBR125R where i managed to wave £449 in the air and snatch what i think is a bargain (he originally wanted £700 and i thought was reasonable) - it turned out that he wanted an Xbox1 (which he let slip while chatting to me) so i offered what i had seen one for in Argos earlier in the week and Hey presto the Muppet said yes!
There was a chap on here last week who bagged a bargain NSR125 - so any more of us out there?

Aside from being the older CBR and missing the lower panels, and the shite as hell aftermarket can, that isn't bad. I paid £330 for my 1st one in 2008, was an 06 model with like 6000 miles on it.

This month, nothing yet, too much time in hospital. Suppose my KTM is the best I can get...completely new engine rebuild, new tyres/pads/seals. Comes with 9 months tax/test £900

How in the hell do you lot get bikes so damn cheap?

Cheapest 125's I found when looking (albeit in February) never crept below £800.

Would never in a million years sell my bike for an xbox. Far more fun to be had on the roads if you ask me.

He's probably going to buy a motorbike game anyway

There are only 23 games for the Xbox One, none feature bikes. Forza is the closest you can get, but that only has cars.
They have announced Trials Fusion, but there's no release date.

I have a CBR125 and I've travelled about 3k miles on it in about 10 months. What a stupid kid, to trade it for an Xbox. Unless it's mechanically unsound, he knows it and you're gonna find out that loose piston's have destroyed the engine? ;p

Slightly off topic... Why did you ratchet strap the exhaust? Why not put the ratchet strap over the bottom yoke so that it compresses the forks? The way you've done it could break off the exhaust header!

The picture quality is not up to much, but the ratchet straps are around the front lower frame sections (even though they look like they are around the exhaust) - i tend not to strap down from the bottom yolk on 125's as i've burst a fair few front fork seals in the past as the bikes i buy generally are stood for quite some time and in my experience once the seals go dry they pop quite easily with a heavy handed tie down. After the bike has had a bit of use (even if the seals weep a bit at first they generally swell up once the oil has got on them and no longer cause any problems) - I've even ruined a rear mono-shock before in a similar manner
