Popped some rubbish in the bin this morning and thought, where's the bike gone. Can't believe it has happened as a worn and dirty, weather beaten and unfashionable 2011 XJR6 with bar muffs on?



Now in the nice position of trying to find another way of getting to work next week without breaking the bank knowing that I am well and truly going to be arse raped by the insurance company.

This was from home, the GSXr was taken from work when at Westminster.

That I could understand a little more as a 'nice' bike and the reason I bought the drab and boring XJR to at least deter onlookers or passerby when parked up. Should have bought what I wanted and employed a fat thug to sit on it 24/7 as protection instead.

They'll steal anything if they're desperate enough for a bike to not walk home.

Does your bike have an immobiliser at all? If so if the kids after cheap kicks stole it, they will NEVER get it running. So it'll probably be a road or two away from your house.

If its a gang stealing bikes for order though, it'll be straight in a van and gone.

Also another thing, what security did you have on the bike? If it was a cheap Oxford / Halford's lock bolt crops will get through them like a knife through butter.
If you had top locks Almax and anchors etc, it'd probably be an organized gang.

I put an old washing machine out back and pikeys had that straight away.
Saved me from getting the council to pick it up.
Sadly the 2 fridges that are there now haven't been taken so I'll need to sort.
Getting bad when even pikeys don't want to nick your stuff

I suspect it'll be on a scrap van rather than trying to be ridden.

2011 XJ6 has the Yamaha immobiliser with the transponder in the key so they're probably going to have to swap the ECU to get it running. Scum!

Bad news. It is shit that feeling that somehow your not allowed to own something while scumbag bike thieves get to run amok. I often feel like this while im trudging through the dozen layers of security Ive had to put in place to protect my bike.

Heres a thought for your next move. Buy an old 125 dirt bike cheap maybe even an insurance write off byt a runner that will atract local bike thieves. slap a cheap gps tracker in it and park it outside with fuck all security. Then just wait.
