Hi
I would like to get a new multimeter with a inductive tachometer fitting for checking idle and such, I have a Wavetech meter atm but its a few years old.
Ive been looking at these, any opinions please or recommendations, will be used on my car as well.

They seem OK, I've got a Laser engine analyser one, it's got tacho and temp as well as your standard multimeter stuff. It's not inductive tacho but for how often you use it it's not a problem to hook it up.
https://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/laser-1574-digital-engine-analyser the download product manual button gives all the specs, probably cheaper if you shop around

So many meters on the market today

I have an oldish Fluke DMM and older analogue one from RS
( Not AVO MkV old just oldish)
and a few cheapish ones from here and there

The choice is yours obviously, all I'd like to throw in is what comes to my mind when looking at meters and thats the plugs

The Fluke and old RS meter both have standard 4mm 'banana' plugs
so I can connect up all manner of leads, probes and clips to the circuit under test and power supplies etc and have my hands free
for other tinkering

My main gripe with some of my cheaper meters is that while they' re quite adequate and accurate for auto work, they have slightly off standard plugs which mean I'm stuck with using the somewhat cheap plasticky leads or improvising clips to free my hand for wiggling wires and stuff.
