You mention 49cc and £199. This means it will /not/ be a high quality of 'performance' item.

N20 is very likely to make it go bang quick. (I believe they use strimmer engines or similar in those ones.) Parts are also much harder to come by.

A 'decent' minimoto, (one by a reputable make, that isn't a toy) will probably do okay, unless you try and do it on one already making stupid amounts of power. Parts will also be easier to obtain when it does go bang.

Personally I enjoy riding minimotos at proper tracks much more than just a blast around a car park. For this you really need a 'proper' minimoto with at least 4.2hp.

Like G said, always have much more fun on the track than a car park.

What are you actually wanting to use it for? Car park riding and general just using it for pose value it'll do the job fine. You'll find riding them on mini moto tracks far more fun and for your money you'll be much better off getting one by a known make and not a cheap chinese copy, have a look on www.minimotoclub.com/vb/

Do it up? What type of doing up are you talking about, you'll be far better just getting a better one to start with rather than buying a low end one and spending a shit load making it fractionally better.

Your one the BHP is probably somewhere between 2 and 3 on a good day.

As ste said your hp on it will be no better than 3.

But for that money you aint going to get much at all, Tuning it up as I assume you want to do will do VERY little as tuning parts are hard to come by for the copies and also will give very little improvement.

Mine and G's are 6.2hp and would simply eat it alive, Ste's is even bigger and is just a flying machine (specially when the break pads fall out).

One with a polini engine is a good make to have.

Polini is the cheapest and most popular of the 'good' makes, so is often mentioned.

As has been mentioned have a browse around the minimoto forum and you should find all the answers you need.

14hp ones are 'supers', like a 125gp bike they need a fair bit of maintenace, but go bloody quick.

I very much doubt they will do 40mph, maybe a tad over 20mph more like (unless you drop it from a cliff).
They might do, but personally I very much doubt they will get over 30 at all.

As they say, you get's what you pays for... so for bugger all money don't expect good quality.
For messing about in car parks it will be fine, but personally I'd go and try some 'proper' minimotos at a minimoto track and see what you enjoy.
