morning all,

iv had my sidi boots about 3 years now theyv been used almost everyday all year round so looking grubby.

id like to hear what you lot use to clean and also protect then to keep them waterproof (ish).

common sense tells me some automotive or houshold leather cleaner will get them clean but also want to giv them something to protect them.

Cleaning i just use some leather-friendly soap and water on rags, dab them dry then leave to dry naturally. Then use some leather conditioning creams to remoisturise and protect the leather.

That being said all my boots are over 5 years old and i've never bothered with cleaning any of them - only my leather suits once or twice - all my boots die of holes in the soles or things snapping well before the leather gives, so maybe not worth the time and effort Question

My white pairs in a similar state. Problem is once they get even a little old, even if you clean them theres so many crinkles n wrinkles that the dirt gets really engrained and stuck in them, so even after a good clean you tend to see all the little black lines Sad Thumbs Down

I think that if you're going to stand any chance of keeping white leather boots at their best, you're going to have to clean them on a pretty regular basis. Otherwise dirt gets ingrained in the creases that develop, as you say. Although this will still be unavoidable to some degree. Sad

I tend to use a leather cleaner and conditioner on my Sidi boots and use the same stuff on my leather jacket and trousers.

Mine's are Prastic so just a quick wipe ower with an oily rag.

I just spritz them with some of that Barry Sheen/Pledge furniture polish wipe off and then Dry-Lube the hinges to stop the squeak.

Same here.

Maybe they have leather ones too. I went for the Hi-End performance model though. Cool

When a friend got their white motocross boots stained with mud I initially washed them with water and let them dry, then used some WD40 so as to get the stain out with an old toothbrush.

I use KIWI neutral shoe/boot polish on my white Alpinestar MX boots that I wear on the XR-SM and it works a treat Wink

If you cannot find any in your local supermarket there is this stuff

I use this bees wax stuff I got from a bike show a year ago, it's brilliant and really brings the colour back as well.

It can be used for all leather gear Thumbs Up
