Very likely done before. But I'll have had my trusty and rusty old RXS100 23 years tomorrow. Wondering how long others have had bikes for.

If anyone can beat my mileage (432,000 miles, 414,000 covered by me), I will buy them a pint Wink

Never had a bike that's lasted that long on the road or without being nicked. Had the monkey for 5 years, albeit more than 75% of that time was SORN in the garage until nicked and then recovered to be sold.

Blimey! I thought the 134k on my KLE was impressive (engine swapped twice though so it doesn't really count anyway)

Longest i've owned a bike is 3 years.

The longest anyone I know has owned a bike for is 57 years (Tiger Cub, though rarely ridden in the past two decades). And the highest confirmed mileage is 717,000 miles from a (still rolling) R65 BMW. No idea how much work the latter has had.

Had my Bandit for 1 year 5 months. And that's in over 5 years of riding bikes.

I'd have kept it if it didn't need so much work.

Could be a case of, yep had this same broom for years - had seven replacement brush heads and five new handles?! Laughing

That's the highest I've ever heard of on any one bike, incredible.

I get the bike I want and not the bike I think others will like me on, so I keep hold of bikes, had an Africa Twin for about 10 years and this Varadero for about 9 years now and not looking to change it either.

Only had six bikes in 30 years.

I've owned my Kona Roast for 9 years now!!

Longest I've owned a bike with an engine would be my XR250 that I owned for 4 or 5 years before it broke too much. It was sold to someone on BCF who lived vaguely locally, they pushed it home. Laughing

How many rebuilds and that though? I've done zero to the 77,000 mile varadero bar oil changes.

Got my bandit 400 in 2003 just before passing my test. In 2011 the CDI burnt out and I sold it, only a wimpy 20'000 additional miles covered in that time tho.

954, 7k miles in just under two years. Only did about 1,500 miles this year. Next year should be far better though, a reasonable sized trip planned, and a few other potentials. Thumbs Up

One or two rebuilds, admittedly Laughing But the bike is still largely original. With the odd bit of renovation from time to time.

I do gearbox oil changes approximately every 20,000 miles. Try that on a Varadero Razz

2 years, 6000 miles, '88 GPz. My first and the best bike I've ever owned. Sold it for 300 quid with bald front tire, leaking front end and runing on 3 cylinders. Thumbs Up

Have had my 1200 Bandit for a whole decade now. Still not sure if I love her or hate her Confused But have done about 75,000 miles aboard the old flabby rhino.

Fat Bandit is firmly ensconced as the number 2 bike to my dear old fossil. I realise most people find it ridiculous to spend so much time aboard a mid-80s commuter. But we get by. Albeit very very slowly Laughing

Hi

Bought the FZ750 in 1990, so about as long as your RXS.

Bought my first Aprilia AF1 in 1989 and still have it, but I did sell it to a friend then buy if back.

Charlotte still has her early AF1 which was bought in 1989 I think, and also her Cagiva Freccia bought in 1990

All the best

Keith

I seem to recall seeing a Vincent for sale a while back that had over 700,000 miles on the clock.

The RXS100 was a nice looking little bike but I'm surprised yours has done so many miles, now if that was the earlier RS100....
